GSRP Logo

Great Start to Readiness, also known as GSRP is changing for the upcoming 24/25 school year. GSRP used to be known for families who were low to moderate income who also had eligibility factors that indicated children may be at a higher risk to fail in their future education experience.

However, with the Governor's upcoming plan PreK for All, hoping to begin in the 2027 school year, the state has made changes to the qualifying factors for GSRP. There is no longer an income cap for families. Income is now used to determine if the program will be FREE or just $10 a month in tuition.

All the qualities that make GSRP a high quality program have stayed the same:

  • Children must be 4 years old before December 1, 2024.

  • Children do NOT need to be potty trained.

  • Breakfast, lunch, and snack are provided at no cost to families.

  • The program follows a research backed curriculum and uses an assessment 3 times a year to track development.

  • The assessment standards match Kindergarten Readiness Standards and sets students up for success when its time for kindergarten.

  • Lead teachers are educated in early childhood and have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, Associate teachers have either an Associate Degree in early childhood or a CDA.

  • Children go to school Monday-Thursdays from 8am-3pm.
