Art 8th Grade-Trimester Scheduling
This class will enhance your understanding of the elements and principle of design. It will allow you to expand your knowledge of historical, modern day, and underground artists that have helped change and fashion media providing strong opinions on the world as we know it. You, in turn will gain a strong understanding of cultural art. You will have the opportunity to strengthen your performance with mediums such as graphite, colored pencil, charcoal and pastel, painting with tempera, watercolor, and acrylic paints (on canvas boards), sculpting using clay and found objects, printmaking and design. By the application of your talents, knowledge of space and shape as well as the inclusion of personal opinions you will have the freedom to choose your own subject matter while relating it to curriculum assignments. You will be expected to demonstrate originality, creative expression and proper technique of mediums. Also, you will become familiar with the many career opportunities in the art field relating these careers to your personal surroundings. Each individual will keep a daily sketchbook/journal in which preliminary drawings, daily sketches and personal writings will be kept. Continue to follow the motto “if you can write your name, you can draw”. Relax, be spontaneous and enjoy the class. |

Art 7th Grade-Trimester Scheduling
This class will refresh your memory on the basic elements of design meanwhile introducing you to the principles of design as well. You will gain familiarity with historical and modern day artists that have helped shaped media. You will create work based on the education of Pop culture, portrait drawing, world culture, impressionism, realism and even through the application of personal experiences. You will have the opportunity to expand your art skills in mediums such as drawing with graphite, charcoal and colored pencil, painting with tempera and water color paints, sculpting with clay, and design using marker. You will also become more familiar with the many career opportunities in the art field and how these careers affect the world in which we live in today. Each individual will keep a daily sketchbook/journal for drawings and personal writings as well as first drafts of final art pieces. Always follow the motto “if you can write your name, you can draw”. This class allows for freedom of expression and creativity. Relax, be creative and original and enjoy the class.
Art 6th Grade-Trimester Scheduling
This class will build upon your artistic abilities by introducing you to basic elements of design. You will be working in art mediums such as drawing with graphite, pastels, and colored pencil, painting with tempera and watercolor paints, sculpting using Papier Mache, and design with marker and other mixed media (including crayon). You will learn about artists of the past and present times that helped to inspire others. Also, you will become aware of careers within the art field. Each individual will keep a daily sketchbook/journal for drawings and personal writings. Always follow the motto “if you can write your name, you can draw”. This class allows for personal growth and creativity. Relax, be prepared to create and enjoy the class. |
