Mr. Stapleton

I grew up in a small town in central Michigan called Hemlock.  I am from a family of four with three older sisters.  While growing up my parents instilled in my a passion for learning and a desire to succeed.  This drove me to become a teacher.

I attended Albion College in Albion, MI, following high school.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History with a Minor in Political Science and an Concentration in Secondary Education.  While there I was also a member of the football team.

Upon Graduation I was hired to teach 8th grade United States History at Simpson Middle school here in Flat Rock.  I taught 8th grade for six years before moving up to Flat Rock Community High School.  This will be my third year teaching at the high school, where I have taught World History, United States History, History of War, and History of Injustice.

I have also been involved with athletics while here at Flat Rock.  Currently I am an assistant coach for the Varsity Football Team and the Head Varsity Boys Track and Field Coach.  During my career I have coached all level in the football program, have been the Middle School Wrestling Coach, and a volunteer for the track team.

While working at Flat Rock Schools, I was fortunate to meet my wife.  We were introduced by some of my football players.  We have been married for over 5 years and we are the proud parent to our young son Augustus.  Gus is always around FRCHS, coming to sporting events, or up to school with mom or dad when school is not in session.
